How to know if someone is a ladyboy?
Honestly, I have asked myself this question several times during the early stages of my ladyboy dating experience. As a French guy who travelled to Asia many times, I can say that it is very difficult to know whether a person is a transgender woman just by looking. It would be superficial and I may come off as ignorant if I would only base my judgment on physical appearance. After all, being a transgender man or woman is about living as one’s true self despite having been born into a different sex.
I would also be hypocrite to say that there are no signs that would help us to know if someone is a ladyboy. The hints or signs are based on the difference between the biological makeup of men and women known as sexual dimorphism and of course their transition. For example, transgender women who started hormone replacement therapy early would have feminine features that are more apparent than those who did not. The procedures undertaken would also reduce the chance of identifying the difference.
The following are the things that may help you know if someone is a transgender woman but keep in mind that humans are complex and that they come in all sizes and shapes.
Hips and shoulders
Naturally, biological women have wider hips than men. It also ends above the navel and not below. Men have also broader shoulders than women so that can be a hint too. Because of this, it can be said that pre-op or post-op ladyboys appear to be more muscular than biological women.
Voice
Voice and pitch gives it away, but not all the time. Generally, a person born male although identifies as a women retains the male voice without voice therapy or exercises. Again, biology is the one to blame.
Face
Sex hormones control the facial attributes of a person. While there are exceptions due to ethnicity, biological women have feminine features such as having pointy chins and round jaws unlike men who either have flat or square-angled jaws. In addition, facial hair are more visible in transgender women who have not yet undergone hormone replacement therapy due to androgens which stimulate hair growth in males.
Adam’s apple
Both men and women have cartilage around the larynx. However, it is more pronounced in men, which is the reason for their lower voices. The presence of an Adam’s apple is a good hint to know that a person is biological male but as far as gender is concerned, it is a different thing. However, prior to surgery, it is a good indicator that one is a transgender woman.
As you noticed, breasts are not included in the list because it is not a one hundred percent assurance of gender. Cisgender women may have flat chests or be very busty. The same is true with transgender women.
Just remember that there are transgender people who do not possess any of the listed hints. The presence of these factors is never a guarantee. In fact, there are transgender women who look more feminine than some biological women. It’s already 2020 and with the technology we have in the field of medicine, knowing whether a person is a transgender man or woman is very difficult. You can only say that a person identifies as a transgender woman if they openly communicated it to you.
